    Default Twenty-four hours

    Hi,

In Polish we have a word for twenty-four hours, and in addition we have, of course, day and night. I use this word very often and am sometimes confused when using English. I have to be careful then not to mix up a day and this "twenty-four hours". In dictionary I found this can be called as "twenty-four hours" or "day and night", but these are not that, well, elegant - at least in my eyes. How do you deal with it in English? Do you ever use any of these two names? Or maybe you never feel the need to use them?

    Best,
    Nyggus

A day (24 hours) works in English.

Thanks. But are there no problems with distinguishing when I mean "day" and day (24 hours)?
