I doubted it if smell could be "rectfied". (Is it better to use "remove"?)

For the second sentence, I would say
Packing the items to be sent to abroad.(or)
Packing items to be sent to abroad.

The verb "rectify" has the following meanings: to make, put, or set right; remedy; correct: to refine or purify; to set straight or right. I myself had kind of a mulled over this word a bit. Although not common, I think it could theoretically be used with Sentence (1). No?

"Remove" is not a bad choice; so is "improve" & the like.

Packing of items to be sent to abroad is not a sentence; it has neither a subject nor a verb. If it is a command (imperative) sentence like the first one, it should say, "Pack items to be sent abroad."
If it is not an imperative sentence it should say, "You should pack the items to be sent abroad." If it is a question, say, "Are you packing items to be sent abroad?"
