    ideas and issues

'a movie that deals in ideas and issues'
I wonder what these 'ideas' and 'issues' mean.
May I have some examples of 'ideas' and 'issues'?
    Thank you.

    Re: ideas and issues

Issues would be social, political problems or other important subjects and the ideas would, presumably, be ones for improving things.

Yes, it is used to distinguish something (like a movie) that will make you think rather than just amuse you.
