    When do you use put instead of place.

    Please do not reshelf books put/place them on the book truck.

    Please do not reshelve the books. Put/Place them on the book truck.

    Either will do in this context - "put" might just be commoner.

    Thank you. I selected "put," but it was changed to place. Just wanted to know if I used it incorrectly. Is there a specific rule for using either put or place?
