    Default what is the mistake?

    Hi all

I have some work to complete (mostly to do with verbs/grammar), most of it is fine. Basically I have to answer a standard set of about 10 question on each of 15 English sentences.

However i don't quite understand what is expected from this one question
    • Write down what the mistake is.
it asks me other things like, what is the corrected version? what was the verb used? etc. but i just want a couple of example/standard answers so i know how to proceed. I am conscious of not asking/giving too much info so you don't tell me to sling my hook.

edit: at the moment i am writing stuff like
      • Assumed a regular verb (past) instead of a simple past verb

That looks right to me. In addition you might write out the incorrect and correct forms, or at least a corrected form of how the sentence should read.

If you are uncertain about instructions in the future, the best person to ask is probably the one giving you the assignment.

You're on the wrong track. There are two verbs, and neither of them is past.

According to the task, there are two ways to structure the example sentence, and your job is to figure out why 2. is considered the 'corrected version'.

    1. You (subject, implied) write down (verb) what the mistake is (object, clause)
    2. You (subject, implied) write down (verb) the mistake (object, noun)

    Good luck.
