    By any means, I must clarify these doubts.


    Does this sentence mean, "By any means, I must understand these doubts".

    Please help me.

    To clarify is to make clear, so yes, the sentence does mean you must understand these doubts-you must make the doubts clear to yourself.

    It does not mean to understand the doubts. Understanding what the doubts are does not clarify them. Answering them clarifies them.

    I have doubts about whether you pay your bills on time. If I speak to your landlord, those doubts will be clarified. (I will know whether you pay on time or not)


    It could also mean that you need to clarify doubts that other people have about you.

    Example: People have doubts about your ability to swim. You will dive into deep water and clarify those doubts. (They will know whether you can swim or not)

    Do you mean, "clarify these doubts" means "explain these doubts to others", in brief?
