    Default conditionals

present unreal conditional quite resmbles future unreal conditional, for example in the following sentence how could one tell if it's present ureal or the latter, provided there wouldn't be any adverbs

If I owned a car, I would drive to work

    Your sentence is present conditional.

past conditional: If I had owned a car, I would have driven to work.
present conditional: If I owned a car, I would drive to work.
future conditional: If I own a car, I will drive to work.
