    When you want to ask someone's opinion about the food he is having, we say

    which one is correct
    1. How's food?
    2. How's the food?

    'How's the food?' is the right one. You might also hear - How do you like it? How is it?

    The one you're addressing your question to already knows which food you're talking about. So you should use the definite article "the".

    NB: You can (not all the time) use the definite article when expect your hearer to identify the thing mentioned.
