What do you call that thing which is longer than a knife but not a sword? It is used for chopping wood at times...

You´re right, a dagger is used for killings... not for chopping wood.

There are also some knife that hunters use, what do you call that?

You use an AXE to chop wood. It has the metal part on the end of a handle.

I know what an ax is. There are some people here having no ax, they use this kind of blade. It looks like a long knife but not a sword.

Can't you find a link for it's image by searching it in your own language?. I really wonder very much what it is. As, I am interested in mmorpg very much and I was thinking that I knew the name of all sharp items.

I realised after having a look at your nationality.
Is it that one ? Bolo knife - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

If so, I think, "machete"is the closest word in English.

I think I am too much stubborn in that thread, sorry about that

LwyrFirat, thanks for being very interested in this thread.

And sorry for not responding immediately, I think I found what I´m looking for. I just wonder what Americans would call it. It´s bolo

I didn´t know that the dictionary would also call it bolo.
    http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/bolo

Here is what it looks like:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bolo_knife

And it seems that it really is a variation of the ¨machete¨.
