    Rewrite:

Knowing that their home would still take quite a long time to build, they took shelter under the canopy of the forest.

Bolts of Lightning, time and again, struck the ground.

When one hit a spot just beside them...

    Well, Thanks!

    Again:
Knowing that their home would still take quite a long time to build, they took shelter under the canopy of the forest.

I humbly apologize for not reading the whole theme before this addition.

In this case it should have read:

Knowing that traveling to their home would still take quite a long time, they took shelter under the canopy of the forest.

    (Thunder claps)

Bolts of Lightning, time and again, struck the ground.

When one hit a spot just beside them...

"What's that? " Rechard doubtful asked; The rain is like pouring the water and it produced very dark fog. It made the environment surrond them becoming invisible. " What is going to happen?" Luke cried out.......

....due to the thick fog it was very difficult for them to find out their home, but somehow they managed to reach home. Luke inserted the key in the door lock but it didn't unlock.................

Instead, the door fragmented into sand and scurried off by itself.

'Closing this door once again is going to prove an interesting task,' he thought blithely to himself.
