    Or hornbills may be calling to one another as they fly overhead before settling in the treetops.




    What does "settling in the treetops" refer to here? I wonder why not "settling at/on the treetops" instead.

    Landing and resting in(side) the folliage of the trees; Cf. on the branches of the tree.
