    Is media plural?
    Which one is correct?

    The media display images of beauty or The media displays images of beauty

    Media is technically plural and should take a plural verb; however, it has become accepted as a portmanteau word and therefore can take a singular verb as well as a plural one.

    In your examples, "The media display..." is fine.
