the temperature is lowered to zero degrees

When the temperature is lowered to zero degree, water becomes solid.

When the temperature lowers to zero degree, water becomes solid.

Re: the temperature is lowered to zero degrees

When the temperature is lowered to zero = deliberately lowered by artificial freezing

When the temperature falls to zero = naturally occurs
