    's

    Teacher, when to use 's?
e.g. Jesus' death vs. Jesus's death
    Nas' Store vs. Nas's store

    Could I use them both?

    thanks

    Re: 's

What I know about this subject is that we use ´s for ownership regardless of the ending letter. But when it comes to Biblical characters whose names ends in ´s´ like Jesus and Moses, we write it as Jesus´ garment and Moses´ tablets of the law.

There is much discussion about this - but I would use Jesus's and Moses's.

but teacher the name Jesus and Moses are multi-syllable noun so I may use only the apostrophe. Is it right? I am still confuse.

    Re: 's

I was taught that possessive 's is used for names ending in "s", regardless of number of syllables.

Follow the way that you have been taught. Much easier than worrying whether you are "correct" or not.

I think you´re right that it´s better to follow what your teacher taught you than worrying....

But Anglika, I often see ¨Jesus´ and Moses´¨ in books...
