    borrow v lend

    Hi

    If a student says can you borrow me 20p how do you explain that this is not correct?? thanks

    You can borrow something (from somebody):
    Can I borrow 20p from you? or Can I borrow 20p?

    You can give something to somebody, so that they can borrow it from you:
    Can you lend me 20p? or Can you lend 20p to me?
