Can you name any schoolboy pranks you know? I was reading an article about Canadian English and I came across to the part where it explained about 'wedgie' and how the Americans in the survey unanimously called it 'wedgie' but the Canadians called it in various names.
This is where I thought names of those schoolboy pranks aren't probably familiar to non-native English speakers, since most of them weren't exposed to the pre-school or elementary school contexts in English-speaking countries.
Anything you know, I humbly ask for enlightenment.
"Pantsing." If you catch someone off-guard, and their trousers are already baggy (and they're not wearing a belt), you sneak up behind them and yank them down to their ankles. They've now been "pantsed."
"Hertz donut." Ask the unsuspecting person "would you like a Hertz donut?" If they reply in the affirmative, you slug them in the upper arm and then ask, "Hurts, don't it?"
"Swirly." This usually takes more than one prankster; you force the victim's head into a toilet and then flush it.
"Mooning." Best done in a moving vehicle - you drop your trousers and display your bare buttocks out the window.
...and of course, I've never participated in any of these!
