    What does 'to take from somebody' mean in the sentence:

    'it's not always a happy thing to have a wonderful person for a mother. You can take this from me because it's the truth.'

    In this context it does not mean stealing

    Rather it means the speaker is telling us to accept that his observation on the matter is the truth.
