    Smile waved for/to

With the music blaring and the crowd shouting, I waved for/to everyone to come closer to the stage. I motioned I was about to run and jump off the stage and they should catch me.

Do for and to do the trick in the above? If yes, are they the same in meaning?

I would use "for" in this case. There is not much if any difference between the choices from a meaning perspective. I would want to avoid using the same preposition twice in a row.

For everyone to come sounds better than to everyone to come

Thanks, Naamplao, for the reasonable and sensible explanation.

By the way, could you explain in a few words the difference between reasonable and sensible? Thanks again.
