    to sir, with love

    Hi there.

    1. "to take sb. from crayons to perfume"
What does it mean? Is it a common expression?

    2. "to write across the sky in letters"
What does it mean? Is it a common expression?

    3. "The time has come. For closing books and long last looks must end."
What does it mean? What does 'long last looks' mean? Is 'long last looks' a common expression?

    Thanks in advance.

    ______________
    The Song
Those schoolgirl days, of telling tales and biting nails are gone,
    But in my mind,
I know they will still live on and on,
But how do you thank someone, who has taken you from crayons to perfume?
It isn't easy, but I'll try,

If you wanted the sky I would write across the sky in letters,
That would soar a thousand feet high,
    To Sir, with Love

    The time has come,
For closing books and long last looks must end,
    And as I leave,
I know that I am leaving my best friend,
A friend who taught me right from wrong,
    And weak from strong,
    That's a lot to learn,
What, what can I give you in return?

If you wanted the moon I would try to make a start,
But I, would rather you let me give my heart,
    To Sir, with Love

    Hi there.

Is this what you're trying to depict??
Of course, the height is unnecessarily to be 1000 ft.
This is just a figure of speech.

    to sir with love
to sir with love (the words written on each letter)

    Re: to sir, with love

My interpretation is that it would be the phrase written once, the letters each being 1000 feet high.

Well it could be letters in the sky in literal terms too. There is such a thing as Sky-Writing in which messages are written in the sky using small specialized aircraft. Many times such methods are used to profess love and even marriage proposals

The point of this is that her relationship is such with this person that she wants to tell the world about it.

    Hi All.

    _____________________________________ 1000 ft.
    To Sir, with Love
    __________________________________________________ __ 0

    This is more appropriate interpretation.
I thought letter meant sth. you wrote and put in an envelop.
But, a letter here simply means a character in computer terminology.
The phrase "to sir, with love" only is written once.

    Thanks a lot.
