    Cool difference between maybe and may be

    Is maybe even a word? What are the different uses for these words? Thanks

    Maybe is an adverb (the words it is composed of are inseparable).
    May + be is a verbal phrase (the modal may and the verb be; always apart)

    Maybe I'll be present at your wedding, maybe I won't.
    I may be present at your wedding.
