The chart shows the growth in viewers for foreign films on cable TV.
I've always been confused by the various terms of chart, graph, map, and diagram. Would you describe each in a few words to tell them apart? Thanks.
A diagram is some sort of picture- a diagram ight be used to illustrate a manufacturing process with the steps and arrows. A map is, err, a map- it would only be some sort of geographical representaion of a counry, town, etc. Graph and chart are similar to me, though chart has a wider sense as we have things like pie charts (http://tbn0.google.com/images?q=tbn:..._pie_chart.jpg). I wouldn't call that a graph. I'd use that term for things like http://www.oracle.com/technology/pro...ges/Graph1.jpg and http://www.oracle.com/technology/pro...gged_line2.jpg
Thanks, Tdol, for the clear explanation and the links.
One more request, could you give me a picture of diagram so that I can get a clear picture?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks, arunp, for the link and the diagrams.
I have a clear picture now.
