    Re: Meaning of title

I think it will help if you can provide the context for this.

    Re: Meaning of title

    Clerk
A person employed in an office or government agency who performs various tasks such as keeping records or accounts, filing, letter writing, or transcribing. One who works in a store and whose job might include working as a cashier, selling merchandise, or waiting on customers.
A law clerk is either a law student employed by a licensed attorney to do mundane legal tasks and learn the law in the process, or a licensed lawyer working for a judge to aid in the writing and research of the cases before the judge.

    Re: clerk

    Hi Naamplao,

I would continue my queer conversation in English language taking the advantage of a few proverbs of the literary heritage my native language.

Wit once bought is worth twice taught.

Never spur a willing horse. (this one is no a "stalking horse")

I couldn't catch the meaning of your blown up with pride, taunting and biting remark. I didn't bargain for that. You have to know that there are answers of all kinds. There is an unanimous ( sharing the same opinions or views; being in complete harmony or accord) answer so well as there is an implicit answer with many different options ( implied or understood though not directly expressed).

    The former kind

clerk = A person who works in an office performing such tasks as keeping records, attending to correspondence, or filing.

The second kind you could see above in my previous post.

What could be expected of me to answer? Do you really think himself a genius and other people (non-Canadian like me) consider an inhabitants Indianian Reservation?

All bread is not baked in one oven. Some are wise and some otherwise.

And now for dessert a Chinese proverb:

"The wise one does not judge others, not their words or deeds or what they have done or not done. The wise one only contemplate her own words and deeds."

I hope you will comprehend what I am getting at.

You found my remark taunting???? Biting??? Arrogant???

You have a lot to learn my friend. That remark of mine was a simple statement of fact.

You in fact answered your own question. I know of no other meaning for the word "clerk".

As far as arrogant writing goes....well I won't say anything.

    Dear Naamplao and Vil,

As far as I can see, Vil was not the original poster, and Naamplao's response was not a taunt.

There is therefore no occasion for a dispute.

    Many thanks,

Yes, you are quite correct. I mis-read the original post and thought Vil had made it and answered it later. It teaches me not to work late into the night.
