    Formal letter

My company has its departments in different parts of the city. I am currently working too far from home and my transport costs are very high. I would like to move to the building which is near my house. Therefore I have to write a letter to my manager. I need some advice.

    Re: Formal letter

    Hello Leeds,

There is a section in this site about formal letters. It's in the Resources tab. It's quite general and just tells you how to say what you need to say. I'm not sure how much help that would be if your problem is actually putting the words together. If you need a jump start of sorts, you can just give me a bit more information and I can write an intro for you. No worries.

    Hope that helps.

    Re: Formal letter

Exactly, I can't put all the words together and the letter is very important for me, it has to be correct.
I'm sure it will be short, I just need to state that:
    1. I'm currently working in the building (home care) which is far from my house and I spend lots of money on travel (bus) Also, I normally do night shifts and this building is far from the bus stop which, after all its a problem.
    2. I know there is another home care (owned by the same company) just two stops from my house and I would like to move there (working on the same terms).
    3. I would end asking the manager to let me know if he had any vacancy there (or eventualy if somebody wanted to swap places )

I hope its not too complicated. If you could help me I really appreciate your help
    Thanks so much xxx
