Smile retired from being a schoolteacher

Before my aunt Patsy retired from being a schoolteacher, she told all sorts of clever stories and tossed out interesting ideas.
Before my aunt Patsy retired from as a school teacher, ...
Before my aunt Patsy retired from a school teacher, ...

Do all of the above three sound right and mean about the same? If not, why not? Thanks.

    Hi, angliholic!

'Before my aunt Patsy retired from being a schoolteacher, she told all sorts of clever stories and tossed out interesting ideas.' This sentence is correct.

'Before my aunt Patsy retired from as a school teacher,'... Before my aunt Patsy retired as a school teacher,... 'from' and 'as' are never used together.

'Before my aunt Patsy retired from a school teacher,' ... This does not make any sense. What did Patsy retire from??? Did she retire from a school teacher??? No, she retired as a school teacher.

    Cheers,
    Amigos4
