Default The meaning of an idiom

    Hello,

I need help. I am trying to figure out what made Winston Church Hill say "We make a living by what we get but we make a life by what we give." I know what we means but I just can not figure out why he said this. Would someone please give me som direction to why he said this.

    Thank you!

    Welcome to the forums.

Perhaps you can provide the context for this quotation. When did Churchill says this and where? And what was happening at the time?
