    Default they'll miss another

    Hello everyone.
I'd like to ask about the meaning of the phrase "they'll miss another" in the following context:

"In the meeting room under us, they're interrogating a GDI scientist we captured when we took the city.
"So? The GDI is rather overburdened with scientists. I doubt they'll miss another."

Does the sentence "I doubt they'll miss another" mean "I doubt they will notice his absence or does it mean "I doubt it will be difficult for them to find a substitute?

"to miss" is a very confusing verb, with several meanings, depending on how and where u employ it.

in this case i think it means

"they have so many scientists to interrogate that they won't feel the need or the urge to capture more scientists"

Thank you very much, jctgf, for your reply.
The difficulty here is that these two soldiers are fighting against GDI, and the army, to which they belong to, have captured a GDI scientist. And when one of the soldiers says "I doubt they'll miss another" he is referring to GDI, not the army which he belongs to.

Correct - so if this scientist disappears, GDI will not miss him.
