    To fine-tune a PA

A PA aired at frequent intervals in the subway stations reads:

    "Don't buy from illegal hawkers."

I'd rephrase it as: Don't patronize unlicensed hawkers.

    Any other suggestions?

And: What's another word for "hawker"?

    One could use "seller".
