Smile I wasn't able to join in the race

I wasn't able to join in the race because I was no tired from all the running.

Does "join in the race" sound right to you in the above? Thanks.

Re: I wasn't able to join in the race

The sentence does not make a great deal of sense.

I wasn't able to join in the race as I was exhausted from/after the previous event.

    Thanks, Anglika.
Sorry for a typo. How about this:

I wasn't able to join in the race because I was so tired from all the running.

    i am just a student

    my guess is:

"i wasn't able to join the race because i was very tired from all the running"

"i was so tired from all the running that i wasn't able to join the race"

    regards

Re: I wasn't able to join in the race

What I was trying to indicate was that if you have been running, you must already be in the race. So if you are not able to join the race, you must have been taking part in events before the race.

    Got it.
By the way, I notice that you write "join the race." Is it "join in the race or join the race?" And why?

Yes, "join in the race" sounds fine, A.

I wasn't able to join in the race because I was so tired from all the running [that we did before the race].
