    when you're starting a new career/job/work

Lisa, I know you really want to do a good job, and that's wonderful! But when you're starting a new career/job/work/calling/vocation, you have to learn not to take things personally.

I presume all of the underlined words work with the above context, but there are slightly semantic differences, aren't there? Thanks.

You would not say " when you're starting a new work, you have to learn not to take things personally.

The other choices are fine. There are slight differences in the type of occupation with the use of career/job/calling/vocation but the use in this sentence retains the basic meaning.
