    Default How to use " is of " in sentence

    I would be gratful if someone can help to explain why "of " place after "is". How to use it?

    1.) This improvement is of utmost importance when making hydrological flood forecasts.

    2.) In employment terms, this inhibition is of little consequence.

    We use 'is of + noun phrase' instead of 'is + adjective'.

    Have anyone can convert the following items in simple sentence for my easy understanding.

    1.) This improvement is of utmost importance when making hydrological flood forecasts.

    2.) In employment terms, this inhibition is of little consequence.

    3.) Mathematics today is of great use to many other sciences.
