happiest girl in the whole usa

    Hi there.

"Itís a skippidity do da day"

    1. What does the quote above mean? Does it simply mean 'it's a great day'?

    2. What is a bojangle clock?

    3. "Thank you oh Lord for making him for me."
    Does make means create?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Nefertiti,
This link may be of use to you if you intend to read and interpret more song lyrics. It's an urban dictionary. The page I've given you explains what "bojangles" is all about...though I still don't understand how it can describe a clock!

Q.1 Yes, she's expressing her joy

    Q.3 Yes

    Hi, moggy.

re Q2 Maybe bojangle is just a name and doesn't have a meaning. Where's your link?

    Thanks for your reply.

    Isn't it spelled "skippity"?

It's not spoken as 'skip pi di ty'

I prefer the Disney spelling: Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah

Yes. It's a happy, carefree day. Picture a child skipping along on a sunny day without a care in the world. That's a skippidty do-dah day.

    2. What is a bojangle clock?
In this instance, "bojangle" is just a Southern euphemism where someone might use a curse word. Instead of saying "darned" or "damned" clock, she says "bojangle."
