    barely x hardly

    hi,

what's the best way to say?

"i have a terrible asthma and i hardly can breathe"

"i have a terrible asthma and i barely can breathe"

    thanks

p.s.: the sentence "what's the best way to say?" is good english?

p.s.: the sentence "what's the best way to say?" is good English? It is fine - would be even better if you used your shift key
I have terrible asthma and can hardly breathe

"Asthma" [as with most medical names] does not take an article.
