    As cold as stone
If something is as cold as stone, it is very cold. If a person is as cold as stone, they are unemotional.

    As cold as ice
This idiom can be used to describe a person who does not show any emotion.

Cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey
This idiom can be used to describe very cold weather conditions. Not usually used in mixed company

    Re: very cold

Are these idioms very familiar ones?

I'm looking for one that describes the weather. But I think the one with the balls of a monkey isn't apt to be used in formal cases.

Could you suggest another one, please.
