    "Large" dog or "big" dog?

    Dear Teacher,

Is it possible to say "large dog"? I was told that this is wrong and it is better to say "big" or "huge". Is this true?

    Thank you.

"big" is used to refer to the size of a dog in day to day life. However, for professional dog breeders, there is a specific category of dog called "Large Dogs".

My brother had a medium sized dog and now has a large dog. It is commonly used as well big. To me a large dog would be something like a Great Dane or a Deerhound.
