Dear teachers,

I read in a Food storage containers and measurements - Quiz the following sentence:

How many ears of corn should I get for dinner?

Could you explain to me the meaning of the term in bold? Could you please tell me what is the difference between ears of corn and maize cob?

I am well grounded with the next definition: corn kernels develop along a "cob" and form an "ear" of corn. The ear is surrounded by protective leaves called a husk. Depending on the cultivar the plant will produce one or more ears per stalk.

Thank you in advance for your efforts.

Regards.

V.
