Are the cards printed with a standard greeting inside?

If so, put their name above the greeting << Mr XXXXX >> // << Francesca >>

and then sign your name below.

Cards are standard greetings cards but inside is blank. Every year I wish them saying like marry Christmas/Happy New year. I would like to say someing else this year.

Especially my departmental head will go to in a new job. How should I thank him for his help in past few years?

    Please advice me. Thanks

    How about:

    "To Mr xxxxx,

Wishing you a Happy Christmas and hoping that the New Year will be successful,

with grateful thanks for all the help you have given me in the past,

    Best wishes

    name"
