    Question tears in heaven

    Hi there.

    "I know I don't belong
    Here in heaven "
    "I just can't stay
    Here in heaven"
    1. Does the writer try to emphacise he is still alive therefore he doesn't belong to heaven?

"I'll find my way, through night and day"
    2. Does 'through night and day' mean all day long or all the time? (24 hrs a day) Is 'thru night and day' a common usage?

"Time can bring you down "
3.What does the quote mean? Is it a common usage?

"Time can bend your knee "
    4. What does the quote mean? Is it a common usage?

    "Have you begging please
    Begging please"
    5. What does the quote mean? Shouldn't it be 'have you begged please'?

    Thanks in advance.

Heaven often means just "a perfect place," or "in a state of absolute happiness."
Norway is a heaven for skiers.
I'm in heaven when I'm with you.
To me, Chinese food is heaven.

"I'll find my way, through night and day"

It's really the rhyme that governs his choice of words here. He means he'll find his way without ever giving up or losing heart, whatever the circumstances.

"Time can bring you down "
    Time can defeat you.

"Time can bend your knee "
Tme can make you submit, defeat you, the way a defeated enemy might have to bow down before his conqueror.
    Not common.

4: "Time can break your heart
    Have you begging please"
Time can break your heart [and time can] have you begging, "Please!" (Time can make you beg for mercy.")

3: Probably "weaken you" (so that you cannot stand up straight)

4: Time can break your heart
    Have you begging please
Probably: Time can break your heart [and time can] have you begging, "Please!" (Time can make you beg for mercy."

    Hi there.

    Thanks for the reply.

The song is somehow associated with the death of the writer's son.

    1. Does 'you' refer to his son? such as, would you know my name, if I saw you in heaven, time can bring you down, have you begging please etc..

    2. Can anyone explain why the following verses is related to his son's death? In fact, I'm quite confused. Can you explain in details?

    "Time can bring you down
    Time can bend your knee
    Time can break your heart
    Have you begging please
    Begging please "

    Thanks in advance.

    Nefertiti,
I sent the following post last night! Did you receive it?

    1. What does the quote above mean? Does it mean we've been experienced something before? Is 'down that road' a common usage? (shouldn't bin be been?) Yes, it should be "We've been down that road before." We have experienced it together at an earlier time. Yes, it is common usage.

"You keep me comin' back for more "
    2. What does the quote above mean? Is 'keep sb. coming back for more' a common usage? Yes, it is common usage. Someone who cannot get enough love or attention may 'keep coming back for more'.

"someone who will turn your world around"
    3. What does the quote above mean? Is 'turn sb's world around' a common usage? Someone who will change your life will 'turn your world around.' A young boy who is in constant trouble could have his 'world turned around' by a devoted coach, teacher, or member of the clergy, for example. Yes, it is a commonly used expression.

"Cause our love will light the way "
    4. What does the quote above mean? Is 'light the way' a common usage?
Our love is so strong that it will light our path as we do things together. Yes, it is commonly heard.

"For love to come along "
    5. What does 'along' mean?
To come our way. For us to find each other...to become soul mates.

"Through the good times and the bad"
    6. What does the quote above mean? Is it a common usage?
Through life's ups and downs... the good days and the difficult days that we will share. Yes, common usage.

    Thanks in advance.

    Cheers,

The first three are his son; the last one is himself [or anyone who suffering the same loss]

Time has the capacity to batter and break you, forcing you to beg that you be left in peace. It is an expression of his bleak feeling that his son is dead and nothing will bring him back, least of all time.

    Thanks in advance.
