    Before the party, Fiona made frequent trips to the store.
    ... Fiona went frequently to the store.


    Are the marginal differences in meaning between the above two versions? Thanks.

    though the difference is light, it looks like in the first sentence, Fiona just kept going to the store before the party; and in the second one, it seems to be an habit for Fiona to go the store before.
