    Default Preposition of/for

    Would like to know if one should say:

    In recognition "of"

    or

    In recognition "for"

    Hello,
    The two ways are possible it depends on the situation. Here are two examples:
    1) The company gave a recognition for my work.
    2) I was presented with a gold watch in recognition of many years of good service.
