You could also start out by renting DVDs and listening to the speech patterns , etc. while keeping your eyes glued to the subtitles.
Be sure to start out with DVD that have got lots of British actors

To improve your conversation skills in English, have a conversation/discussion class with a native speaker, and practice it with your friends. Have a English book you can read in your free time to enhance your mind to store new words, and watch English movies to develop your vocabulary and listening skills same as listening to English songs, if you do this with patience and dedication you will see that you are improving....

re: How can I improve my spoken English?

I think that there are many ways to improve your conversational/oral English but you have to find the best ways for you. You need to find something fun, interesting and something that doesn't feel like work. Then it wont be too hard to keep doing it. That is the key. Find something you like to do and do it everyday forever...FOREVER! muahaha I sound like a super villian...but it is true. If you could like an extensive list of ways to study English take a look at the article I wrote on different ways to improve all the aspects of your English at http://www.helping-you-learn-english...y-english.html

    I hope that helps you.

In general the best way to improve your speaking is to listen to Engilsh ALL THE TIME and to speak it as much as you can. I will be launching the audio for my website in OCT or NOV so keep an eye out for it. I'm very excited!!

    I hope that helps you.
    All the best,
    Diana Tower

Re: How can I improve my spoken English?

It is so easy to do.
I borrowed a book from library. It say you should read it every day from newspaper, books, story book or other. You never need to know what it said inside.Just read it aloud. Then day after day.Your english spoken will be good.
I also follow this method to do.And it look well.
