    What is the meaning of "trim and bold" -of ships?

    A:(order) Keep her trim and bold!
    B: Trim and bold she goes!

    'trim' means well-balanced and sitting nicely in the water
    'bold' isn't used in a specifically nautical sense here - it suggests that the ship is courageous and brave. (Or really, that the sailors in her are brave)
