    Question academic

    Dear teachers,
today I have a question which may occur rather silly to most of you, but still confuses me a little. Does 'academic' (either as a noun and as adjectve) refer to a person who teaches at univeristy/college, or maybe it also describes a person who studies there?
    Many thanks in advance,
    Seba

It will really depend on your context. It may be an academic question.

academic as an adjective = relating to education and scholarship; scholarly rather than technical or practical; of only theoretical interest

academic as a noun, on the other hand, means a teacher OR a scholar at an institution of higher education.
