    Hi lalda222,

In my poor opinion, there is no such term in the "special cricket terminology". There are in the list of cricket terms only the following close to the mentioned of you above term, namely on side, on strike, on the up (there is only a faint likeness- presence of on).

Presumably this is an ordinary idiom.

on fire = 1. ignited; ablaze
    2. filled with enthusiasm or excitement

    Happy New Year.

    Regards.

"On fire" could refer to any team or individual who are doing their absolute best, playing or working with enthusiasm and success.

You can also say "on a high" or "on a roll."

I hope this leaves thread leaves you on a high.

    Hi Baqarah131,

I agree completely with your formulations.

A few extra words for lalda222's helping.

on the roll = on a streak of success or intense activity, as in:

"The team's scored three runs in the last inning and they're really on a roll."

    or

"Once the experiment succeeded, Tim was on a roll."

This slangy term alluding to the momentum in he act of rolling.

on high = up in the sky, also in heaven

"They fixed their eyes in high, looking for the comet."

or in the Bible (Psalm 63:5)

"The Lord our God who dweleth on high."

    Happy New Year!

    Regards.
