When something is measured or metered, 'usage' is often preferred.

use is a verb; it's pronounced [yuz].
use is a noun, short for usage; it's pronounced [yus].

As a verb: I use ([yuz]) at least one bottle of shampoo a month.
As a noun: Don't mind his use ([yus]) of the word.
As a noun: Don't minde his usage of the word. [yu'sIdj]

    All the best, :D
