Default Parts of Speech 2 (a new set of questions)

    Hi Teacher

Can you please help. I am trying to understand parts of speech, as I am self-teaching myself. Unfortunately, the book does not come with answers so I am not sure if I am right or wrong.

Name the part of speech of each word in bold?

    • In after years this brave act shall be remembered. (Adjective)

    • The boys followed after the girls. (Adverb)

    • Helen went first and I after. (Verb)

    • The evening was pleasant after the thunder storm had passed. (Conjunction)

    • My friend left the next day. (Adjective)

    • The conductor stood next the door. (Adverb) - also is this sentence written correctly.

    • In the queue my mother came next to auntie. (Adverb)

    • We made a round of the side-shows. (Noun)

    • The car whizzed round the corner. (Preposition)

    • The wheel whirled round. (Adverb)

    • The round carpet had a most unusual design. (Adjective)

    • I have not seen the tramp since. (Adverb)

    • The explorers have not been heard of since last month. (Adverb)

    • It is no use offering him money since he always refuses it. (Preposition)
