The Biggest Eastern Festival
Every year at Easter, my family and I regularly visit the one of the biggest Eastern festival in Slovakia. It takes place 30 kilometers east of Kosice in a village called Dargov.
The Festival starts at Holy Week. During this week you can buy Eastern meals, food and chocolate in special Eastern shops. I donít like it that I canít eat this food, because it is "Lent," a time when it is forbidden to eat meat, chocolates, or drink alcohol. At this time people usually send Easter cards to their friends and relatives.
Easter Sunday is a day to celebrate the Ressurection of Jesus Christ On this day people go to church in the morning for a special Easter worship. I never go, because I find it boring. After the worship all the people eat, drink, and celebrate this feast day. I like that atmosphere. In every corner of the village you can hear national folklore music.
I always enjoy the time we spend on Eastern Festival in Dargov and I recommend it for anybody who loves traditional values and history.
