Smile Falling in love feels great!

    Falling in love feels great!
Falling in love makes people feels great.
People feel great when they fall in love.

    Hi,
The first of the above sounds odd to me because the event of falling in love is inanimate. How could an inanimate event or thing feel great? Thus, I would change it to the second or the third. What's your oponion? Thanks.

Sadly, that's the only option that doesn't work - [it] makes people feel [no s] great.

Your objection to the first is shared by many, who would prefer to make the whole sentence impersonal: 'Falling in love is a great feeling'. But this mixture of the personal and the impersonal is common - example: 'Walking in the rain is so refreshing.'

The third option is fine, though some people might feel the meaning is slightly different - because the focus is on what some individuals feel, rather than the nature of the feeling.

    Good question though!
