    Default What is the correct usage? US or the US?

    What is the correct usage in the below sentence?

    The development team is based in the U.S. or based in U.S.
    The development team is based in US?

    The development team is based in the U.S.A.
    The development team is based in U.S.A.

    Articles are not normally used with countries, It's not "the Germany" or "the Thailand". There are some exceptions such as "The USA/US" or "the UK".

    It is correct to use "the" in this case.
