    Are they weird?

    Teachers, are there any problems with the following sentenses?

    1. Being pro-Democrat, he only went about among some Democratic circles.

    2. Where would it lead to, however, was nowhere in sight, as his self-perceived road to success. (Is "self-perceived" correctly used here?)

    Thanks. :)

    1. Question: Being pro-Democrat, why only "some" circles. Why not all circles?

    2. Word order: Where it would lead to,....
    I don't get the last part, 'as his self-perceived road to success'. The entire phrase sounds odd. Try, 'as this was his self-perceived road to success'.
    'self-perceived' is OK. :D

    Cas, I wanted to say, "His self-perceived road to success was also nowhere in sight". Does the following work:

    And where would it lead to, however, was nowhere in sight, as well as his self-perceived road to success.

    :)

    The word order is still awkward;

    And where would it lead to,.... ==> And where it would lead to,... :wink:

    What about?

    Where it, as well as his self-perceived road to succeess would lead him was nowhere in sight.
