    Do you mean how is the verb "to mean" used or how is the noun "means" used?

    the verb:

    To mean = 1: to express or represent something such as an idea, thought, or fact; 2: to intend; 3: to have an important emotional effect on someone

    1 >> What does this sentence mean?

    2 >> I mean to go to London tomorrow.

    3 >> That ring means a lot to her because her husband gave it to her when they became engaged.

    It can be used to emphasise what you are saying. For instance, to a small child that is being noisy:

    "Stop that this instant or you will go to bed. I mean what I say!"

    Noun:

    Means = 1: a method or way of doing something; 2: money, for example from an income, that allows you to buy things

    1 >> By what means did you find your way here today?
    2 >> He has the means to buy all the houses in this street if he wanted.

    Adjective:

    Mean = unkind, ungenerous.

    Don't be so mean! You are always teasing me.
    He is so mean that he never pays for a thing

    [mathematical use] a mean number is an average number

    Please, correct me If I do it wrong!

    for example:

    The zoo/park has some rules about the animals, the rules are about:
    - Don't feed up the animals;
    - Stay 10 feets away from the jails;
    - Don't take pictures of the animals;

    Sorry - my mistake. I did not understand your original question. It helps if you make clear what phrase it is that you want to know about - use bolding, or underlining, or "" to make it clear

    Marcio seems to have answered the question.
